Describe the bug
As a user I find that when I download and install the miner, when opened the GPU Power stays on constant load. This occurs even when I change to Custom mode. When I check the xtrgpuminer log, I see a PANIC and ERROR displayed
It seems to resolve itself and go back to null when I click on the Stop Mining CTA and then Restart Mining

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Download and install 0.8.49 of Tari Universe
  2. Open Tari Universe app
  3. View the GPU Power
  4. User sees GPU Power on Constant load
  5. Go to Mode and switch to Custom
  6. Adjust the CPU and GPU threads
  7. Click on Apply Changes CTA
  8. Close the Custom Mode modal
  9. Observe the GPU Power

Expected behavior
GPU Power should be displayed
