0.8.49: Intel Mac: My CPU & GPU Power is on constant load

Describe the bug
As a user I find that my CPU & GPU Power goes into a constant load state for more than 10 minutes at a time. This happens multiple times with no user interaction. My last run is going for 60+ minutes on constant load

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. User installs app version 0.8.49 on Mac Intel
2. Open app
3. Observe the CPU & GPU Power

Expected behavior
CPU & GPU Power goes into constant loading states constantly

Tested on Mac Intel on app version 0.8.50 and I found that when i click on Stop Mining and then Restart Mining, my CPU & GPU Power goes into a constant loading state for about 15+ minutes before eventually resolving

On Mac when changing to Ludicrous mode, my GPU & CPU Power stayed stuck on constant load, as did the EST tXTM/day. After I changed mode to Custom, it resolved:
