v2.8.3 Final Released
v2.8.3 for Windows and Linux is out now, and includes many new features and improvements and is highly recommended over earlier versions. Of significant note is the addition of a new tab for Base64 encoded data. See the user manual and release notes for more details.
Currently the new version is out for Windows and Linux only. I'll get an Apple Mac OSX package built ASAP (a few days). Hopefully Debian packages will follow shortly. @darealshinji usually packages the Deb files for me and does a great job of it. When done, I'll upload them to the website as usual.

v2.8.3 Beta 3 Available
Fixed bug as reported in Ticket 29 on Sourceforge (https://sourceforge.net/p/quickhash/tickets/29/) wherein users could not select the root directory in the "FileS" tab. Now they can, though I expect this will only work when selecting slave drives and removable drives. If the users selects C:\ the operating system will lock certain files, preventing QuickHash access to the files and generating an exception error.
Also improved the "Copy" tab in as much as the source and destiantion text fields are now read only unless UNC mode is selected. If then deselected, they revert to read only.
v2.8.3 Beta now with Base64 decoding and Scheduling
The first beta for users to try out. Main addition is Base64 decoding enabling users to compute hashes of both encoded and decoded Base64 files. In addition, there's a button to just allow mass decoding and saving in the decoded state.
The other major addition is a scheduler, enabling the user to scheduling hashing tasks for some time in the future (up to a month).
Lots of other minor imporvements. See the ReadMe.

v2.8.2 Released
Last night I compiled v2.8.2 of QuickHash for all three platforms. Compiled binaries will be available tonight (from about 20:00 UK time) from the website www.quickhash-gui.org along with a slightly updated user manual and so on. Please study the ReadMe for more details of what's new.
I'll try to compile some new DEB packages using @darealshinji packaing scripts...unless he beats me to it! ;-) (and he did beat me to it...they are also on the website!)

v2.8.0 is out now!
v2.8.0 is out now and is available for download. In addition to precompiled Linux 32 and 64 bit binaries, there's also two DEB packages for easy installation.
A Windows executable is available for both 32 and 64 systems, and an Apple Mac OSX one will follow as soon as I get round to dusting off my ten year old Apple Mac system! It's always a hassle compiling the OSX version!

Test Debian Package for QuickHash for Linux
After many requests for a Debian package of QuickHash, and thanks to the https://github.com/prof7bit/LazPackager project, I think this attached file is what one might need to create a package or push a package for Debian? Any Debian testers want to try and let me know?

Note also that a new website has been built for the project seperate from SOurceforge. The new home of QuickHash is http://quickhash-gui.org. There is a bug tracking service there for regular users (i.e. non-programmers). Programmers who are likely to have a GitHub account already can use the issues system here instead.
v2.6.9.2 for Windows, Linux AND Apple Mac OSX Released
Pleased to announce the release of QuickHash v2.6.9.2 for all 3 major desktop platforms. For Windows and Linux there is 32 and 64 bit applications, and for Apple Mac OSX there is a 64-bit application bundle only. But this is good news because for several months I have put off generating a new version for Apple Mac because I kept having compilation problems and problems generating an application bundle. But thankfully a fellow coder has explained to me how to create the application bundles properly so hopefully it will work properly now on all three platforms, including the Mac.
The latest version of the program is available in pre-compiled binaries from Sourceforge (https://sourceforge.net/projects/quickhash) or you can generate your own binary from this code repository.
v2.6.9 of QuickHash Released
Available via Sourceforge for both WIndows and Linux, v2.6.9 adds some important improvements for long path handling and UNC network paths, as well as many GUI cosmetic improvements and better error handling to actually inform the user of what files are causing the problem, what files didn't hash properly, etc. Highly recommended for all users of the utility.
