[QUESTION] Summoning

Hi,
So I've started to grow quite a liking to this mod after discovering it on a modpack called Betterminecraft 3, which has this mod included on the latest 1.19.2 version.

I searched for the Curseforge page of the mod in an attempt to learn more about it and I found the showcase video on the Curseforge page. I was very intrigued after it got to the summoning part; since I actually needed to summon a villager.

But lo and behold, it did not work! I found that the villager recipe was deleted entirely off the mod on version 2.2.4/2.2.5

I know that the showcase video on the Curseforge page for the mod is a bit outdated but it's very misleading and confuses a lot of people...

So let me get to the main questions: Why was the recipe removed? and What uses does the soul pedestal provide on version 2.2.6? The wiki page seems to be broken so I cannot answer the latter myself.
