Via 2.0.5 not working in Fedora 37 and with Keychron K8 Pro #230
Comments
The same issue on Mac and Keychron K6 PRO |
This seems to be a common issue and from what I've read, v1.3.1 still mostly works but for whatever reason, that version has vanished from the repo. |
I have a Keychron K6 Pro and enabling Using chrome on Pop_OS. |
wow it works! thank u @flatlining ! |
I tried that but it did not work for me. It still just sits there on the config screen. |
EndeavourOS Kernel 6.0.12, same issue as @cbmeeks, stuck on config, "searching for devices". |
See the-via/app#91 |
When launching the Via application (2.0.5) in Fedora 37 (GNOME 43), the app loads fine. I then upload the K8 Pro ANSI JSON file (as specified here: https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k8-pro-qmk-via-wireless-mechanical-keyboard).
However, the "configure" tab never gets past the "Searching for Devices". When I go to the key tester, all of the keys seem to work. In fact, I am typing this issue on the keyboard now.
I have set my system to Windows mode. FWIW.
Any idea how to get this to work? I'm mostly interested in getting the media functions to work (volume, etc.) in Linux.
Pressing fn + F12, for example, doesn't change the volume.
Thanks.
