GNCC C2 Installation

Hey guys!

I want to install the firmware into the GNCC C2 which has the following configuration (T23N,_SC2336,_ATBM6012BX, 8MB) and seems like the Galayou G7 also has a similar configuration (T23N, SC2336, ATBM6012BX, 8MB) notice only the difference on the underscore on the bluetooth/wifi chip and the image sensor.

Should I follow the same installation guide for the Galayou G7 but changing the bin file used for it?

I can also provide pictures of the internals of the camera if needed.

Yes, that's the one. But I was more interested to know what guide to follow. I ended up flashing it directly onto the flash using the CH341A but maybe since the Galayou G7 seems to have the same specs maybe we can state in the docs that in order to flash the GNCC C2 you can follow the guide from Galayou.

I have taken the opportunity to dump the original firmware out of 4 cameras and also take some pictures of the internals if needed.

Use a programming clip to flash the image in-circuit, or hook up uart, short pins on the flash chip to get into bootloader shell and flash the image from an sd card.

Hello @yeyeto2788, I also have a GNCC C2, can you detail how you flashed with CH341A?

I have a CH341A connected and was able to get to U-Boot and flash the bin file provided in the wiki with the SD Card method detailed here: https://github.com/themactep/thingino-firmware/wiki/Installation%3A-General#from-the-u-boot-shell

But this appears to have bricked the device, all I get now is:

I have also put the bin file provided on the wiki home page onto the sdcard and renamed it autoupdate-full.bin, but on boot all I see is this repeated every few mins:

Im keen to know how others have flashed with a CH341A connected, as I assume I have done something incorrect, any suggestions would be appreciated, I have a second camera I can try to flash but keen to be sure I don't brick both!

Anyka?! Are you flashing Ingenic firmware to a camera with Anyka processor? Make photos of the board.

So I guess it is obvious now - your camera uses different soc which is not compatible with thingino hence not supported.

Yes it is, thank you for your assistance. I do not seem to be having much luck finding the correct soc in the EU, I'll see if I can find some alternative projects for these cameras, thanks again

EU has plenty of supported models. Wansview, Galayou and Cinnado cameras are available on European Amazon. Maybe something else. Check https://thingino.com/ for the list of supported models.
