theupdateframework/python-tuf#1807 removes the unmaintained AUTHORS.txt, because it fits better within the scope of the wider TUF project, that is not all organizations and individuals listed in the document are/were affiliated with python-tuf.
We should re-add an up-to-date TUF authors/contributors document either to the website or to a project-wide repository (e.g. github.com/theupdateframework/community <- does not exist yet) to acknowledge the efforts of our contributors.
IMO contributors are part of Project, hence we should add contributors and authors in Community -> Contributors(new page) section on website.
I am evaluating TUF documentation as per CNCF assessment criteria as per LFX project idea. And I realized that we should remove this Part from About -> Project and add them to Community -> Contributors page too as other orgs does (e.g. Falco). About -> Project should contain features of TUF only.
WDYT about it? For this issue we need Authors list or we have one?
Tell me your thoughts on this, I would be happy to take on this issue.
