on linux systems fatattr should be installed.
test-path / if not exist tell user. otherwise execute

SET READONLY ALL
fatattr +r /OPENDIR-PATH/CONTENT//

SET READONLY selected ITEM
fatattr +r /OPENDIR-PATH/CONTENT/*/ITEM

UNHIDE ALL
fatattr -h /OPENDIR-PATH/CONTENT//
