Describe the bug

I'm using the ROG Ally Z1E and I bought Cyberpunk 2077 on Epic Games. I installed it through Heroic Launcher and added the shortcut to Steam. However, the game randomly freezes. Sometimes it happens during the intro, other times during gameplay. It's almost impossible to play for more than 20 minutes without a freeze. When it freezes, the ambient sound continues, but the graphics are stuck, including the performance overlay. Controller input doesn't affect anything either. The only way to fix it is to quit and reopen the game.

What did you expect to happen?

The game should not freeze.

Output of rpm-ostree status

bazzite-deck version 41.20241118.2

Hardware

ROG Ally RC71L_RC71L

Extra information or context

I use Proton Experimental in Heroic, and "Apply known fixes automatically" and "Use UMU as Proton runtime" are enabled.

I had this exact issue (on Steam) as well a couple days ago. Use the latest stable proton (9.0.3) latest GE and Experimental are currently broken for cp2077 as it seems. Do you play with mods by any chance?

ValveSoftware/Proton#4450 (comment)

Maybe try GE-Proton9-14 as latest upstream Proton 9.0.3 was released on Sep19 and this GE version was released a couple days after.
I don't know for certain if that will work, maybe try a couple version older than 9-14 if you still have issues

You can install it with ProtonUpQt
