Removing records is pretty slow when running the tool from an unlimited species map. It is quite a bit slower than removing records using editing.mxd.

The tool pauses on the step "turning off map layers to speed up processing". It does not appear that it actually turns offs off the layers in the mxd.

This slowness is only when removing records: adding a single HUC12 to a species range took 8 seconds, removing that same HUC12 took 3 minutes.
