Welcome to the mitiq wiki!
Mitiq Roadmap (summary, look here for 2023 planning)
-
Current:
- Zero-Noise Extrapolation (ZNE)
- Probabilistic Error Cancellation (PEC)
- Clifford Data Regression
- Digital Dynamical Decoupling
- Readout error mitigation
- Learning-based PEC
- Pauli twirling
-
Planned:
- Robust shadow estimation
- Quantum subspace expansion
-
Candidates for the future (not planned):
- Noise-Extended Probabilistic Error Cancellation (NEPEC)
- Other symmetry-based techniques, such as: Error Suppression by Derangement / Virtual Distillation, Symmetry Verification.
- Entanglement forging / circuit knitting
-
Current:
- Cirq
- Qiskit
- PyQuil
- Braket
- PennyLane
-
Candidate:
- QuTiP
- OpenPulse
Mission: Make error mitigation easily available to everyone running programs on quantum computers. Objective: Mitiq should be so effective that every quantum program should compile through mitiq.
Support the following techniques and features:
- Add robust shadow estimation
- Add quantum subspace expansion
- Mitiq supports automatic quantum error mitigation calibration and choice of error-mitigation techniques (ZNE, PEC)
- Combining different error mitigation techniques (add tutorials, documentation, workflows)
