December 2020

  • Added data for the 108th to 112th Congresses.

January 2020

  • In January 2020, there was a change to the <committee> element associated with individual actions in BILLSTATUS files. It became the <committees> element. For additional detail, please see Issue #147

January 2019

  • Added <textVersions> in response to Issue #45. Element will initially be available in Bill Status files for the 116th Congress and then in other Congresses as files are updated or reprocessed.

November 2018

  • In response to Issue #45 proposed update to add <textVersions>.

April 2017

  • Added top-level Version element with a value of 1.0.0.
  • Minor edit for two often-used Summary Version types. Change Type 1 to "Reported to Senate with amendment(s)" (old description: Reported to Senate amended). Change Type 17 to "Reported to House with amendment(s)" (old description: Reported to House amended).
  • Major edit for two not-previously-used Summary Version types. Change Type 70 to "House agreed to Senate amendment without amendment" (old description: Hearing scheduled in House). Change Type 71 to "Senate agreed to House amendment without amendment" (old description: Hearing scheduled in Senate)
  • Fixed Bill Status Cosponsors for Amendments issue #44 and Overlapping Amendments issue #34. Stay tuned for reprocessing schedule for 114th and 115th.

November 2016

  • Add <state>, <district>, and <party> elements within each <item> under <cosponsors>
