Most likely USB drives mapped with SCSG cannot be used with a Mac because non-Apple drives do not support mode page 48. With this mode page Apple forced users to buy expensive Apple drives and prevented using stock hard drives and CD-ROM drives with Apple computers.
s2p shall automatically add this mode page to USB mass storage devices mapped with the SCSG device (SCSI-to-USB bridge).

At least a Performa 630 with MacOS 7.6 does not require any special mode page. An SD card in a USB adapter can be used with the s2p SCSI-to-USB bridge and the Mac out of the box. A 3.8 GiB USB stick also worked fine.
