Trying to add an alert to this datasource results in the following error message:

The datasource does not support alerting queries

Is there some reason this is not currently supported or just hasn't been implemented?

Could you point to where this could be implemented, or some docs on the matter? I don't see any information about alerting on the build a data source plugin doc from Grafana.
