The data from the registration authority for ISO 639-3 provides "types" for each language. Types indicate whether the language is "living," "ancient", or several other classifications which appear to be distinct in the data, and are represented by single character values. Currently LANG_0000007 is defined with range of string.

Suggested improvement

Create a controlled vocabulary and use it as the range of LANG_0000007
