A sorted source is a source that emits all of its data as difference events [#5], in some order based as a property of the data, the first time a materialized view explicitly requests a full recomputation. Typically the first time a view is attached to a stream.
Once this initial set of data has gone out, all future difference events are emitted in chronological order.
If there already exists a computation graph attached to a source and a view is attached late, the recomputation event will only flow to the late arrival.
