Screen brightness reset after sleep

Hi, new to Mac's and love BetterDisplay on my 4k Monitor.
I have the brightness set to 33% but when the Mac comes out of sleep even thought the slide says 33% it has gone to 100%. I have to move the slider to re engage it?

Mac is a Mac mini M2 Pro.

Hi there - what display model are you using? Did you change any default settings?

Hi, Its a Philips 278E1A - 27 Inch 4K Its set to 33% brightness (monitor hardware set at Zero) Monitor has been calibrated and using profile. Due to low lighting in the room I do photo editing in, I need the display low to match prints. Resolution 133%2460-1440 for readability. I am running the latest Sonoma version. Thanks

Well, if the following is set up like this, then the app should restore software dimming - if combined dimming is enabled:

If it is not doing that, I am not sure what could be the issue. How is brightness control is configured exactly?

That setting was enabled. Taken some screenshots of setting used that may help.
