Odyssey G8 3440 x 1440 HiDPi

I am using the native 3440x1440 with LoDpi, Ihave the Pro version thinking this might give me the 3440x1440 HiDPI version, but I have been trying to enable settings as on other discussions forums but stil cant get HiDPi to show up, using the new version 3.03 is there a bug there, can someone using the same version share some steps?

Please note the model specific limitations - native HiDPI is limited at 3072px max horizontally for entry level Apple Silicon Macs (Macs that do not have a Pro or Max chip).

Thank you. That would make sense, I am using a Macbook Air M1. I am testing with a MBP 2019 today and will confirm resolution later on.

With the 2019 16" MBP the situation should be better. MBPs with Intel iGPU don't work that well + they also have a max limit of 3360pixels horizontally.

Try rebooting a few times, no HiDPi, MBP 19 16" i7 CPU and MB Air M1. Am i missing something or def Laptup GPU limitation?

Interesting. It might be because the 2019 16" MBP has two GPUs and it might be using Intel iGPU to render the desktop which has this limitation.

So I take it that there is no current fix given the MAC limitation? Do you know if there is a future fix? Or anything on your roadmap that will take care of it?

These limitations are baked into the GPU driver and probably has roots in the hardware capabilities of the chip. You can of course create a virtual screen and use mirroring to get around the limitation but it might not be the best experience.

I had the same issue on a Dell U3417W (34" 3440x1440) and it got solved by (1) connecting the Mac Mini (M1) through DisplayPort (rather than HDMI) and (2) enabling 8k in general settings. HiDPI is enabled but the final resolution is, weirdly, 6123x2563:

follow-up: It turned out to be a monitor issue. I decided to test with my windows rig and it had the exact same bluryness issue. Factory resset the G8 and everything is back to normal. Not sure what could've caused it though.

I got the same results, reseting did the trick - every now and then it gets the same and I unplug and plug in the DP and works, however no 3440x1440 HDPI still on the M1, best one I could get was 3072x1020 HDPI settings.

Yes, the entry level Apple Silicon Macs max out at 3072px HiDPI horizontal resolution. This is not a display issue.
