How to set up iPad portrait mode?

I think I'm an idiot. I read the instructions in Issue 231, but i don't have options for full screen stream like the images. I'll have to retry it later as I haven't looked at it in 2 days due to life, but just remembered I was having issues and wanted to post to make sure I ask got new instructions.

Does it matter if you are usb sidecar VS wireless?
For resolution of iPad, are you able to just create dummy of iPad, or do you need to create a custom dummy?

Hi @nyteghost - That screenshot is a bit outdated. Full Screen Streaming is now under More Options and is called Stream Display.

You can create a dummy suitable for your iPad (various iPad sizes should be in the Create New Dummy menu).

If you have an older iPad, you should simply choose 4:3 VGA.

What I did that worked for me on my iPad Pro 12.9"

• Connected sidecar
• Went to "Tools" > "Create New Dummy" > "4:3 - iPad - Matches Sidecar ..."
• Clicked Dummy > "More Options" > "Portrait Orientation"
• Clicked Dummy > Picture in Picture > Start Picture in Picture
• sanity checked I had something that looked like a portrait mode iPad)
• Clicked Dummy > "More Options" > "Stream Dummy" > "Rotate Stream by 90º"
• Clicked Dummy > "More Options" > "Stream Dummy" > "Sidecar ..."
• And it was working! Besides that I wanted to put my iPad upside down so I switched to "Rotate Stream by 270º", and then I just turned off the Dummy's picture in picture since I didn't need it (in the menu bar, not just by pressing X on the window, since that seems to not actually turn it off)

Yes, simply pressing X on the PIP window will not turn it off, just hides it - if you don't need it back, it is more economical to actually turn it off.
