I'm using Google Chrome 109 (the last version that supports Win 7), which is still pretty good except that Bitwarden's passkey feature is very "erratic" (which according to Bitwarden's collaborator, is because my browser is too old).
I don't like Firefox because although it still supports Win 7, its interface and features are too much to start with and it has many unnecessary pre-built themes and extensions that cannot be removed - heavy and resource-consuming, so I looked into both Supermium and Thorium to find a suitable browser to replace Google Chrome that I am using.
But honestly, I felt confused when looking for the right download file on Thorium's release page, they release many versions to download but do not explain clearly about those versions and it seems to require a bit of advanced knowledge about CPU to choose the right version to use, so I decided to try Supermium first.
Back to the main topic, I am currently using the following flags when starting the browser:
--incognito
--force-dark-mode
--ash-no-nudges
--disable-auto-reload
--disable-back-forward-cache
--disable-background-networking
--disable-breakpad
(exist but not work)--disable-chrome-tracing-computation
--disable-component-extensions-with-background-pages
(disable built-in extensions)--disable-component-update
(disable built-in extensions update)--disable-crash-reporter
--disable-crashpad-for-testing
--disable-crashpad-forwarding
--disable-default-apps
(disable built-in apps)--disable-dinosaur-easter-egg
--disable-domain-reliability
--disable-fetching-hints-at-navigation-start
--disable-gaia-services
(exist but not work)--disable-in-process-stack-traces
--disable-ip-privacy-proxy
--disable-logging
--disable-logging-redirect
--disable-print-preview
--disable-search-engine-choice-screen
--disable-zero-copy
--metrics-recording-only
--no-default-browser-check
--no-pings
(exist but not work)--disable-features=ChromeRootStoreUsed,OptimizationHints,DialMediaRouteProvider,MediaRouter,InterestFeedContentSuggestions,PrivacySandboxSettings4,TabHoverCardImages,EncryptedClientHello
(ChromeRootStoreUsed
= cannot trusted self-signed certificates;EncryptedClientHello
= not supported on win 7?)I would like to know if the above flags are available (and working) with Supermium?
P/s: If it exists (and works) with Supermium then surely it will also work with Thorium-legacy?
