No search results for non-English search term

I can only search /giphy using English text (well, Latin script text). Non-English languages such as Japanese or Chinese just returns no results found. Is this a bug or a limitation of apps?

Changing the search language code has no effect.

@wreiske Hello again 😅, the situation is the same as with Tenor. Also does not work for me.
