It do not load contacts. There are contacts on the sim. When it start it just show an empty screen.

Android 7.1.2 without google services.

There is no exception in adb logcat.

Confirmed on LineageOS 14.1.

I tried to import contacts from the SIM card on a Samsung Galaxy S4 running LineageOS 14.1/Android 7.1.2, to no avail : the card displays no contact.

What's funny is that I tried other similar apps, and while they could read other info from the card (like phone number, etc.), the contact list was empty every time, so maybe it's more an Android issue ? Permission, maybe ?

@breversa There is no permission required to read/write sim contacts. Being able to read/write contacts depends on the device vendor. It is not even a part of Android OS. There is no real API, and almost no docs...

Default built-in contacts apps can usually read contacts from the sim, but not write them. Could you check if your "contacts" app reads the sim contacts properly?

Happy new year 2018 !
SIM contact import works fine indeed with an older phone : I used a Samsung/Google Nexus S running CyanogenMod 11 (the latest version I could get my hands on) and managed to import the few contacts stored in the SIM card.

Bottom line :
Dumbphone Assistant works better with old phones.
I believe this issue can be marked as [SOLVED], and the app description updated accordingly ?

Thank you for your help !
