In vs code, I do like this, cmd+a ( select all text) then cmd+shift+L ( select multiline)

There's editor: split selection into lines action for that, but seems its bindings are only defined for Sublime and JetBrains keymaps currently:

There's a command palette, same as in VSCode, you can enter commands there.
