Metal/Rocket parts tanks?

I've added SCON to an existing save with CKAN. I don't seem to have anything to put metal or rocket parts in. How is that supposed to work? Searching online, some things I see say I should have separate parts, and others say I should switch ore tanks to hold metal and rocket parts. I don't see separate parts or any way to change the ore holding tanks...
