This file is just a brainstorm for a new app I want to create called PayStubb
Description:
The basic idea behind this program is rather simple.
The user specifies the number of hours she worked and her payrate.
From this PayStubb calculates the gross pay for that period of time.
This is so simple that one might ask why even write the program?
Well, one of the nice features that is planned to be added is that
PayStubb will differentiate between Overtime, Reg time, and Holiday time.
Additionally it will be able to add or subtract any off hour premiums (For offshift work).
For this reason PayStubb should simplify the calculation of payment over hours worked.
Overview:
At it's most base level there are few things PayStubb needs to understand.
1. Regular pay rate
2. Overtime pay rate
3. Holiday pay rate
4. Any added premiums for off hours work.
Also, PayStubb needs to be able to take input from the user in relation to
total hours of each type worked. From that it should be able to easily calulate
the total pay for a the worked hours.
Class Skeleton:
App(): This should contain pretty much the whole app.
__init__(): This should intialize any GUI elements.
This will likely also initialize all of the needed variables.
get(): This will get user input values for/from variables.
calc(): This will calculate the total pay for the period of time.
I'm not sure if this will all be in method... Though I would suspect that this should work.
Implementation:
This app will be using the Tkinter module to draw a windowed gui.
The window will provide all the entry fileds for number of hours worked.
I would like to make a menubar since I have not yet done that in my other applications.
Perhaps I should take the time to draw upp a layout of the window.
Update:
I would like to make this application be more modular and dynamic by allowing the user to add and remove rows/widgets.
Doing this would allow the user to taylor the layout and input/output of the program to her specific situation.
This means I need to write a way to create and destroy widgetsat at specific locations. (If this is even possible).
Also my program needs to know how to get input from any newly created entry fields. This would require some sort of
special method that knows how to initialize the widget and any associated variables so that the calculate function
can use any new added information.
