Perspective on usage

Cotton Energy is represented by (currently WIP) United Manufacturing, which serves as a general reference implementation not only for how to use the system, but what values machines should work with. United Manufacturing assumes these standards:

  • One piece of coal, when burned, will always generate 320 WU. It can generate it as fast or as slow as a machine would like, but five points of fuel will convert to one work unit.
  • Since one piece of coal smelts eight items, it will always cost 40 WU to smelt one item. It can smelt as fast or as slow as a machine would like, but it will always consume the same amount of energy for a basic, 1 ore -> 1 ingot smelt.
  • An EMP of strength n will drain n energy from a machine it hits. The machine may temporarily deactivate, but it will always lose the given amount of energy.
