Rule 3 is about griefing in general, and there's no rule about traps, which means traps are allowed. If a trap is set to kill players within the 3x3 chunk area while the n spawn is set anywhere within the central chunk, keepInventory is ON, and player will respawn with their items and XP on them.
I don't see the need to go ahead with these modifications.

do you think being trapped in a way where you can't tp out is allowed?

Give me an example of such 'trap' in which you literally neither can't die, nor can't tp out, other than the harmless ascending water column enclosed in blocks that won't let you leave or tp, so a mod will tp you out of it.

it would be good to add it back in some way since 2.1 previously covered this with the 15 minute clause but currently people can permanently trap other players for long times and get no punishment

@keijodputt this rule is literally enforcing that a mod can tp you out!

@PlaceReporter99 enforcing is kinda rough; 'enabling' a player to request a tp, on the other hand, suits better. TP'ing stuck people, IMO, would be part of a mod's voluntary perks, like being the middleman during a town/nation trade. I wouldn't mind tp'ing a stuck player, given the right conditions are met: the player won't die, the player isn't being harmed inside the trap, the player can't exit by their own means. Yet you still haven't given me a clear example of a tp-worthy trap other than the one I already described above.

I think that "griefing" applies perfectly well to anything that could ruin someone's gameplay experience, this is an unnecessary change

### 3.7 Traps
Traps are allowed. However, if they are designed to hold people captive and in a way that prevents them from teleporting out, staff are allowed to rescue them on request of the person being held in captivity.

I would suggest adding the "15 minute" clause back but I'm not a big fan of that considering it means staff have to wait around quite a while sometimes or give awkward explanations. It's a hard thing to track.

A more harsh restriction of no inescapable traps at all regardless of how long you keep them there would be better for the moderation side IMO but it could be overbearing and hard to implement fairly.

Overall though I think this is a good change that should come back as it was accidentally removed with the removal of the teleport traps rule.
