About the project

MyFM is a band-oriented social agregator platform written in Ruby with the help of the Rails framework.

The idea behind MyFM

The name MyFM came from two other websites/webservices: Myspace and LastFM. The main idea is:

• A user can play one or many instruments.
• A band is composed by one or many users("members"), and every "member" of the band play a particular instrument in this particular band (a user can be a part of many bands !).
• Band write and play music which can be shared on the internet.
• Band members have online social activites (Twitter,Facebook, etc.)

This is where MyFM joins the game:

• Every social activities of each member of the band on MyFM band's page.
• Using LastFM to retreive informations about the band's popularity (genre, listeners, progression, etc...)!
