User guide
Hello, and welcome to MyFM ! Let's start with the basics. When you start MyFM for the first time on the "root" page, you should see this: This is the application's main screen. Here you can search the entire MyFM database filled by other registered users, even if you're not a logged-in user. At the top of the page, there's the toolbar: It is accessible from every page of MyFM. First you need to create an new MyFM account (or an existing one).
In the toolbar, click on "Sign up now !" to create a new account. Fill the form, and ready to rock !
- TIP: You can use your gravatar linked e-mails
It's time to create your own bands within MyFM. To do so, just hit the "My bands" link in the toolbar, then in the new page showing, just follow the link "Create a new band", and fill-up the form:
- Lastfm bandname: Use just the same name in the adress bar on lastFM
You can edit the band's infos by clicking the "Edit" link on the top every band page (If you've created it by yourself only)
As you probably noticed it, there's a "My Bands" link in the toolbar. You can see a quick preview of all your bands on this single page and jump straight to any of your band's page.
We have a badass feature here: in the toolbar you can search everything you want, myFM users or bands. Just type some letters in the text-field in the toolbar and there it is, you don't even need to spell it entirely, MyFM will find your stuff anyway !
As a registered user on MyFM, you can express yourself by posting short messages (like "tweets" on Twitter). There's two places to do it:
- On your profile page.
- On the page of any band that you have created. Every post you write belongs to the page where you have wrote it: That means if you write a post on your band's page, it appears to any MyFM user as the band wrote this. So, be careful !
