About the project

MyFM is a band-oriented social agregator platform written in Ruby with the help of the Rails framework.

The idea behind MyFM

The name MyFM came from two other websites/webservices names: Myspace and LastFM. Let's introduce some modern band concepts:

• A player(user) can play one or many instruments.
• A band is composed by one or many players("members"), and every "member" of the band play a particular instrument in this particular band (a play can be part of many bands !).
• Band write and play music which can be shared on the internet (in this case, LastFM).
• Band members have online social activites (Twitter,Facebook, etc.)

This is where MyFM joins the game:

• Every social activities (Tweets, Facebook status, etc...) of each member of the band on MyFM band's page.
• Using LastFM to retreive informations about the band's online reputation (genre, listeners, progression in the lastFM top ranking, etc...)!

In some other words: All the social activity of a band in one place, music and quotes!
