I'm a Mendenhall postdoc at the USGS, where I'm currently developing tools for postfire debris-flow hazard assessments. Previously, I completed a doctorate in climatology at the University of Arizona, where I specialized in paleoclimate data assimilation. I'm the author of several geoscientific software libraries - these include the USGS's pfdf and wildcat packages, as well as the DASH Matlab toolbox. I'm interested in natural hazards, climate change, and supporting open science. Check out my website for more details about my work.
Here are some of my most popular repositories:
Python / Postfire Debris flows
- pfdf: A Python library to support postfire debris-flow hazard assessments and research
- wildcat: Command line tool to assess and map postfire debris-flow hazards
Matlab / Climate Science
- DASH: A Matlab toolbox for paleoclimate data assimilation workflow.
- pdsi: A Matlab package to compute the Palmer Drought Severity Index for instrumental and/or climate model data.
- scaleColorMap: A Matlab utility that scales colorbars when plotting divergent datasets.
