The MHAF (Marian Hegemony Armed Forces) have some of the most unique infantry organization in the game. Platoons are called 'centuries' and consist of ten 10-trooper contubernium (squads) for foot and motorized, and five 10-trooper contubernium for jump infantry. Mechanized and field gun/artillery centuries are more conventionally organized with four 5-trooper contubernium.
Game rules require these split to units of 30 troopers at most; while the MUL lists '1/4 century' units, MegamekLab only works with whole squads. So foot, jump, and motorized centuries are given two types of deployment: the Duplus Contubernium (two-squad, 20 total) and the Triplus Contubernium (three-squad, 30 total).
In its early years the Hegemony was a literal Bandit Kingdom organized for supply raids, so infantry selection leans heavily towards light and mobile during those years. In the early 3000's the MHAF is expanded into a more regular military force and conventional infantry gains heavier mechanized formations. In the late 3040s the MHAF introduces an advanced infantry armor kit.
The Marian Hegemony is not as industrialized as some of the other Periphery states, and has a noticeable trend from the capabilities of A-rated (best equipped) to F-rated (worst equipped) forces. Heavy and advanced weapons such as infantry lasers and SRMs are more common in the A-rated forces as are more-capable Triplus Contubernium units, while the F-rated forces are mostly rifles supported with flamers and MGs. The advanced infantry armor kit is almost exclusively found in the highest rated forces.
