Description: Protein-protein interactions are central to living cells, enabling them to sense their environment, integrate information from separate signaling pathways and respond accordingly to maintain homeostasis. PrePPI [1] is a structure based-method for predicting protein-protein interactions at a proteome-wide scale. Using a Bayesian statistical framework, PrePPI integrates diverse structural and non-structural information (such as co-expression data, gene ontology similarity, phylogenetic profile similarity, etc) to predict whether a given pair of proteins are likely to interact. Applying PrePPI to all possible protein pairs of human proteins, we have assembled a database of ~1.3 million high confidence protein-protein interactions into this online database.
