Multiomics Wellness KP

Back to Home

Wellness is a KP created and maintained by the Multiomics Provider. Wellness KP provides significant correlations between various blood analytes. The dataset was created as a result of a wellness study that monitored the blood analytes and general wellness of a cohort of individuals that were largely healthy. The KP presents statistical metrics like the Spearman correlation and the Bonferroni corrected p-value among clinical labs, proteins and metabolites. Upcoming versions will include regression models for analytes with maximum connections and models that represent interactions among community of analytes that make biological networks.

Edge Attribute: weighted p-value:

To mitigate the effects of no. of observations available on the significance of a relationship, the Multiomics Wellness KP has a weighted_p_value column for some edges. It serves as a measure of knowledge stability as cohort size changes. The ISB's Wellness dataset is collected in the form of 'snapshots' taken over a period of time, wherein the number of people enrolled in the wellness study changes. Such changes can have a strong effect on the relationships (and their significance) as computed by a single snapshot. The weighted p-value takes this into account and produces a metric that is generated by the weighted average of Bonferroni corrected p-values for all the snapshots of the dataset. The weights are the fraction of individuals who contributed to establishing the relationship in a given snapshot to that of the total number of people in all snapshots that contribute to establish the same relationship.

The graph currently uses the biolink:correlated_with predicate and biolink:ClinicalFinding, and the deprecated biolink:Protein and biolink:Metabolite as nodes.

Use Cases- A sample TRAPI formatted query:

  • { "message": { "query_graph": { "edges": { "e0": { "predicate": "biolink:correlated_with", "subject": "n00", "object": "n01" } }, "nodes": { "n00": { "category": "biolink:ClinicalFinding", "id": "LOINC:1759-0" }, "n01": { "category": "biolink:ChemicalSubstance" } } } } }
