Is a permalink to aerial view possible

I can see documentation to permalink feature here
However, when I create a permalink with Aerial view showing the result of following that URL does not switch the Aerial view on.
This applies whether I copy the permalink url from the bottom right of the map or whether I generate a permalink using Tools / permalinks.

Does anyone understand what's going on with this or have a work around ?

This should be fixed now. Here is a permalink with the aerial view switched on. Can you check whether this works for you and close the bug if it does?
