First of all I am not a programmer and you are very welcome to criticize, discuss and even (who knows) contribute!

Use cases of these scripts:

let's imagine that you have a PagerDuty instance as notification tool which is connected to all you infrastructure: Nagios, Zabbix, BigPanda, etc and you get a lot of incident. You are using Atlassian Jira DataCenter as issue tracker and you are interested in to track all PagerDuty's activity in Jira.

PagerDuty suggest to use this solution. Solution is good but have some issues (word of the day, hah):

1. Required Heroku or self-hosted HTTP server with PHP.
2. Allow us only to create a ticket, not to set in progress or resolve.
