+The cabinet approved the draft Royal Decree on land expropriation in parts of Bangkok (Khlong Sam Wa district’s O Ngern, Sai Mai, East Samwa, and West Samwa subdistricts), and Pathum Thani province (Lam Luk Ka district’s Lad Sawai, Beung Kham Proi, Lam Luk Ka, and Beung Thonglang subdistricts), B.E. …, as proposed by Ministry of Transport.

+The Royal Decree prescribes areas in parts of Bangkok (Khlong Sam Wa district’s O Ngern, Sai Mai, East Samwa, and West Samwa subdistricts), and Pathum Thani province (Lam Luk Ka district’s Lad Sawai, Beung Kham Proi, Lam Luk Ka, and Beung Thonglang subdistricts) to be expropriated for the construction and expansion of Chalong Rat Expressway (Jatuchote – Lam Luk Ka section). Land survey and appropriation shall commence within 180 days after the Royal Decree is in effect. The Royal Decree will be valid for 5 years.

+Gist
+The draft Ministerial Regulation is a revision to the Ministerial Regulation prescribing customs checkpoints and border checkpoints, B.E. 2560, which has been revised by the Ministerial Regulation prescribing customs checkpoints and border checkpoints (No. 8), B.E. 2566.
+The revision is made on the location of Map Ta Phut Customs Checkpoint from “Map Ta Phut subdistrict, Muang district, Rayong province” to “Maenam Khu subdistrict, Pluakdeang district, Rayong province”, as a result of the relocation to a larger office of Map Ta Phut Customs Checkpoint to accommodate and facilitate better services. The new office of Map Ta Phut Customs Checkpoint has been opened for operation since October 2024.

+The draft Ministerial Regulation prescribing plastic scraps as prohibited product for importation into the Kingdom, which will take effect from January 1, 2025 onward, is aimed to address oversupply and illegal import of plastics in the kingdom, and prevent smuggling of electronic waste together with the importation of plastic waste.

+Should there be an amendment in parts that are not gist nor against national interest, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Thai delegation may proceed without having to resubmit to the cabinet

+The draft outcome document of the 4th meeting of Thailand - Hungary Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation (JCEC) summarized discussion on trade and investment cooperation, as well as other areas of cooperation, i.e., environment, water resource management, agriculture, culture, energy, and tourism.
+Hungary is a potential export market for Thailand in the Eastern European region. In 2023, the total trade between the two countries was worth 771.87 million USD, with Thailand having a trade surplus of 262.15 million USD (exports of 517.01 million USD, and imports of 254.86 million USD). Major export products are automobiles, automotive equipment and components, electrical switchboards and control panels, and computers. Major import products are chemicals, machinery and components, electrical machinery, and tourism. In 2023, there were 27,906 Hungarian tourists visiting Thailand. An approximate number of 7,000 Thai tourists visit Hungary per year.

+The cabinet approved in principle for Thailand to be the location of Advisory Centre on International Investment Dispute Resolution. This is as proposed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Related budget will later be proposed should Thailand be selected as the location of the Advisory Centre.
+Gist
+Ministry of Foreign Affairs will declare Thailand’s intention to host the Advisory Centre at the meeting of UNCITRAL (United Nations Commission on International Trade Law)’s secretariat to be held during December 2-4, 2024 in Bangkok. Should it be selected, Thailand shall start with the internal process, i.e., identifying suitable location and funding sources, and preparing related budget. Selection will be made by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in the next 1-2 years.

+December 6, 2024, at 14.30 hrs, Government Spokesperson Jirayu Houngsub disclosed that Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra held a meeting with concerned agencies to discuss public concern on VAT restructuring. Participating in the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Pichai Chunhavajira and the Prime Minister’s policy advisors. Gist of the meeting is as follows:
+The Prime Minister affirmed that 1) There will be no adjustment of Value Added Tax (VAT) to 15%; 2) Ministry of Finance is actually studying the feasibility of tax restructuring, while taking into account the entire system to ensure fairness, reduce disparity, and enhance national competitiveness; 3) Looking at other countries that underwent tax restructuring before, the process normally takes time it even took over 10 years for some countries; and 4) the Government’s core policy directive is to reduce people’s financial burden, increase income, expand opportunities, reduce government expenses, and increase public sector’s efficiency, along with seeking new income opportunities. All of this is for the better quality of life of the Thai people.
+The Prime Minister called for public confidence, and affirmed the Government’s commitment to administer the nation with prudence for the best interest of the Thai people, while listening to the voices of all sectors in driving the country forward.

+วันที่  9  ธันวาคม 2567  เวลา  09.00 น.  นายคารม พลพรกลาง รองโฆษกประจำสำนักนายกรัฐมนตรี เชิญชวนนักท่องเที่ยวเดินทางท่องเที่ยวเส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติทั่วประเทศในช่วงฤดูหนาว ซึ่งเป็นช่วงที่อากาศเย็นสบาย เหมาะแก่การเดินป่าและกิจกรรมเดินป่า  รัฐบาลโดยกรมอุทยานแห่งชาติ มีเส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติ เพื่อให้นักท่องเที่ยวได้สัมผัสธรรมชาติอย่างใกล้ชิด โดยเฉพาะพื้นที่ภาคเหนือ ภาคอีสาน กว่า 300 เส้นทาง มีระยะทางทั้งระยะทางสั้น ตั้งแต่ 100 เมตร ไปจนถึงไกลสุด 64 กิโลเมตร โดยเส้นทางเดินศึกษาธรรมชาติระยะไกล คือ เส้นทางที่มีระยะทาง 2 กิโลเมตรขึ้นไปเน้นเรื่องของการออกกำลังกายกลางแจ้ง จำนวน 80 เส้นทาง ซึ่งในแต่ละปีจะมีปริมาณนักท่องเที่ยวเป็นจำนวนมาก
+นายคารม แนะพิกัดอุทยานแห่งชาติแต่ละแห่งในพื้นที่ประเทศไทย เช่น  ภาคกลางและภาคตะวันออก มีอุทยานแห่งชาติเขาใหญ่ ซึ่งครอบคลุมพื้นที่ 4 จังหวัด ได้แก่ นครนายก สระบุรี นครราชสีมา และปราจีนบุรี มีเส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติที่น่าสนใจ ภาคตะวันตกและภาคใต้ มีเส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติป่ายางนาในอุทยานแห่งชาติอ่าวสยาม จังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์  นอกจากนี้  ยังมีเส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติแห่งใหม่ “สันพญานาค” อุทยานแห่งชาติภูแลนคา จังหวัดชัยภูมิ ที่ได้รับการพัฒนาให้เป็นเส้นทางท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศ ซึ่งนักท่องเที่ยวจะได้สัมผัสกับความงดงามของธรรมชาติและระบบนิเวศที่อุดมสมบูรณ์ พร้อมชมทัศนียภาพที่สวยงามตลอดเส้นทาง และเส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติต้นพระเจ้า 5 พระองค์ ในอุทยานแห่งชาติถ้ำสะเกิน จังหวัดน่านและพะเยา  รวมถึงแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่น่าสนใจในเขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าและเขตห้ามล่าสัตว์ป่าหลายแห่ง ที่โดดเด่นด้วยความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพและระบบนิเวศภูเขาสูง เส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติเขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าภูหลวง ที่เปิดโอกาสให้นักท่องเที่ยวได้เรียนรู้ระบบนิเวศป่าดิบเขา และดอยม่อนจองในเขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าอมก๋อย ที่มีจุดชมวิวทิวทัศน์อันงดงาม
+“รัฐบาลเชิญชวนนักท่องเที่ยวสัมผัสอากาศเย็นสบาย และสัมผัสธรรมชาติของเมืองไทย ขอความร่วมมือนักท่องเที่ยวปฏิบัติตามคำแนะนำของกรมอุทยานแห่งชาติ ช่วยกันรักษาความสะอาดเพื่อให้เป็นการท่องเที่ยวควบคู่กับการรักษาทรัพยากรธรรมชาติอย่างเหมาะสม และที่สำคัญต้องไม่สร้างความเดือดร้อน ทำลายทรัพยากรธรรมชาติในพื้นที่แหล่งท่องเที่ยวด้วย” นายคารม กล่าว
