+The International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) gave its approval for a Category A1 application for an International Horticultural Exhibition in the Nakhon Ratchasima province (Korat Expo 2029) from 10 November 2029 to 28 February 2030. The approval by Members took place on March 6, 2024 during the AIPH Spring Meeting in Doha, Qatar, in accordance with AIPH Application Regulations

+Title: Draft Memorandum of Cooperation between Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Kingdom of Thailand and Ministry of the Environment of Japan on environmental cooperation
+The cabinet approved the draft Memorandum of Cooperation between Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Kingdom of Thailand and Ministry of the Environment of Japan on environmental cooperation. Should there be an amendment in parts that are not gist nor against national interest, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment may proceed without having to resubmit to the cabinet. Minister of Natural Resources and Environment or a representative is authorized as signatory of the MOU. This is as proposed by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
+Gist
+The draft MOC is a renewal to the former MOC which is expired on May 17, 2023. Essence of the renewed MOC is mostly similar to the expired version, except the following changes: (1) increasing the number of areas of cooperation; (2) changing Japan's liaison agency; and (3) allowing the new draft MOC to be automatically extended every 5 years.

+​Nalinee Taveesin, adviser to the prime minister of Thailand, will lead a delegation of Thai businessmen for a tour of Bangladesh from 13 to 17 July
+to explore business opportunities.
+The visit is an outcome of the discussion between H.E. Mr. Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister of Thailand and Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh during the latter’s official visit to Thailand from 24 to 29 April.
+Nalinee Taveesin will pay a courtesy call on the foreign minister of Bangladesh and visit sites that demonstrate the efforts of Bangladesh in promoting infrastructure and investment potential such as Bangladesh Special Economic Zone in Araihazar, Chittagong Port Authority, Sabrang Tourism Park in Teknaf and Korea Export Processing Zone.
+Nalinee will be accompanied by representatives from 14 Thai prominent companies in various segments including energy, industrial park, agro-industry and real estate. The Thai embassy will organise a business matching session on 14 July in collaboration with the Bangladesh-Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
+Bangladesh is Thailand’s second largest trading partner and source of tourist in South Asia. In 2023, the trade volume was around $1.18 billion. Around 140,000 Bangladeshis visited Thailand in the same period. Both sides have signed a Letter of Intent to start the negotiation for a free trade agreement within this year. Bangladesh will host the 6th Joint Trade Committee between Thailand and Bangladesh in August 2024 to discuss cooperation to facilitate bilateral trade and boost its volume.
+Nalinee is former Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office. During the official visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to Thailand in April 2024, Mrs. Nalinee represented the Royal Thai Government in seeing off Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina upon her departure at the airport. +​PM affirms Govt’s prioritization on addressing informal debt
+July 11, 2024, at 1140hrs, at the Parliament, Bangkok, during the 4th Session of the 26th House of Representatives, the 2nd Year (First Annual Ordinary Session), Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin responded on the issue of informal debt that it is another economic challenge that is prioritized by the Government. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul and chief adviser to the Prime Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong have been working relentlessly to tackle the problem. According to the Prime Minister, informal debt is not only an economic but also a social issue of concern. With the ridiculously high interests, no matter how much people work, it is not enough to pay off their debts. These people may end up losing will to work and turn to illicit drugs or crimes.

+Govt aims to increase farmers’ revenue by 3 folds in 4 years
+uly 11, 2024, at 1140hrs, at the Parliament, Bangkok, during the 4th Session of the 26th House of Representatives, the 2nd Year (First Annual Ordinary Session), Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin emphasized the significance of agricultural sector to the country. Although Thailand has enjoyed high profit from the industrial sector, Thai people remain dependent to the agricultural sector. The Government, particularly Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, has been working hard to improve the country’s agricultural structure, with an aim to increase farmers’ revenue by 3 folds in 4 years, through implementation of half-half fertilizer project and precise agriculture, and seeking new international markets, among others.

+12 ก.ค. 67 น.ส.เกณิกา อุ่นจิตร์ รองโฆษกรัฐบาล เปิดเผยว่า  รัฐบาลภายใต้การนำของนายเศรษฐา ทวีสิน นายกรัฐมนตรี มีความเป็นห่วงในสถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของยาเสพติดในปัจจุบัน ได้มอบเป็นวาระเร่งด่วน ให้หน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องได้ร่วมกันบูรณาการเพื่อป้องกัน แก้ไข ปราบปรามยาเสพติด พ.ต.อ.ทวี สอดส่อง รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงยุติธรรม จึงได้นำประชุมคณะกรรมการติดตาม เร่งรัดการดำเนินงานป้องกัน ปราบปราม และแก้ไขปัญหายาเสพติด ครั้งที่ 2/2567 ร่วมกับ นพ.พรหมินทร์ เลิศสุริย์เดช เลขาธิการนายกรัฐมนตรี พล.ต.ท.ภาณุรัตน์ หลักบุญ เลขาธิการ ป.ป.ส. และนายสมคิด เชื้อคง รองเลขาธิการนายกรัฐมนตรี และผู้เกี่ยวข้องอีกหลายกระทรวง
+น.ส.เกณิกา กล่าวอีกว่า รมว.ทวี พูดถึงความห่วงใยของนายกรัฐมนตรีกำชับให้เข้มงวดในช่วง 3 เดือนนี้ โดยเน้นในระดับชุมชน หมู่บ้านเพิ่มมากขึ้น และการนำผู้เสพเข้าสู่กระบวนการบำบัด เพื่อลดอัตราการกระทำผิดซ้ำ ที่ปัจจุบันมีมากถึงร้อยละ 61 และพบว่าผู้ที่อยู่ในเรือนจำติดยาเสพติด จำนวน 229,320 คน ในจำนวนนี้ 77% มีการศึกษาต่ำกว่าขั้นพื้นฐานที่รัฐบาลให้เรียนฟรี โดยขอให้กระทรวงศึกษาธิการตรวจสอบนักเรียนที่หลุดออกจากระบบการศึกษา เพื่อลดจำนวนแนวโน้มผู้เสพยาเสพติด และกระทรวงยุติธรรมอยากจะเพิ่มโอกาสให้แก่ผู้ต้องขัง เตรียมเรือนจำปรับเปลี่ยนเป็นสถานฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพ เพื่อยกระดับเป็นศูนย์ฟื้นฟูสภาพทางสังคมต่อไป จะช่วยลดการกระทำผิดซ้ำทางสังคมของผู้ต้องขัง โดยกระทรวงยุติธรรม ได้ขอความร่วมมือจากหน่วยงานสาธารณสุข ตำรวจ ทหาร ป.ป.ส.
+น.ส.เกณิกา ยังกล่าวต่อถึงการสรุปผลการดำเนินงานปฏิบัติการเร่งรัดการดำเนินงานป้องกัน ปราบปราม และแก้ไขปัญหายาเสพติด ระยะเร่งด่วน 3 เดือน ในพื้นที่ 25 จังหวัดเร่งด่วน โดยด้านการปราบปรามนักค้าและเครือข่ายยาเสพติด ผลการดำเนินการภาพรวมประสบผลสำเร็จมากกว่า 70% ส่วนกระทรวงสาธารณสุข ดูแลการบำบัดรักษาและฟื้นฟูผู้ติดยาเสพติด สามารถรับผู้เสพเข้ารับการบำบัดได้มากกว่า 90% มีการนำผู้เสพในระบบคุมประพฤติเข้าสู่กระบวนการบำบัด ดำเนินการไปแล้วกว่า 84% และมีการดำเนินงานของศูนย์ฟื้นฟูสภาพทางสังคม จัดตั้งไปแล้วกว่า 2,348 แห่ง รวมถึงได้จัดระเบียบทางสังคมและการมีส่วนร่วมของภาคประชาชน ในสถานบันเทิง สถานบริการ สถานศึกษา ดำเนินการไปแล้วกว่า 90%
+ทั้งนี้ ผลการดำเนินงานตามตัวชี้วัดภาพรวมปฏิบัติการเร่งรัดการดำเนินงานป้องกัน ปราบปราม และแก้ไขปัญหายาเสพติด ระยะเร่งด่วน 3 เดือน ตั้งแต่ 1 มิถุนายน – 31 สิงหาคม 2567 มีจำนวน 5 จังหวัดแรกที่ได้คะแนนตัวชี้วัดภาพรวมมากที่สุด คือ มหาสารคาม ขอนแก่น ชลบุรี สงขลา และสตูล โดยสถานการณ์ปัญหายาเสพติดในปัจจุบัน มีแนวโน้มลดลงอย่างต่อเนื่อง เป็นผลมาจากความสำเร็จของการบูรณาการทำงานร่วมกันของภาคีทุกภาคส่วน ที่ขับเคลื่อนนโยบายปราบยาเสพติดของรัฐบาลอย่างจริงจัง และประชาชนเข้ามามีบทบาท ช่วยเหลือเจ้าหน้าที่ในการเฝ้าระวังและแจ้งเบาะแส สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความร่วมมือร่วมใจของทุกภาคส่วนในการแก้ไขปัญหายาเสพติดอย่างเป็นรูปธรรม
