🎉 Rise is back in action!
Well, sort of.
Unfortunately, many of us were sad when Rise Media Player's certificate expired - it had been a while since the last release, after all.
However, I've gone and taken the effort to restore its former glory by regenerating the app package with a whole new certificate!
🙋 Frequently Asked Questions
Hey there! I'm sure anyone who came to this page has questions about Rise. Here are a few! If you don't see your question answered, please please contact me on Discord; my username is @lamparter
and you can find me on either the Windows App Community or Developer Sanctuary (or by DM if that works for you).
Q: What's going on?
The lead dev of Rise, @josephbeattie, is very busy and is doing other things. He's currently unable to commit full-time to developing the app. The other devs, such as @YourOrdinaryCat and @itsWindows11 are also busy with other projects and don't really have much motivation to work on the app considering that they have nobody to direct them specifically.
Q: How can I download Rise Media Player?
You can download Rise Media Player by clicking on the download below (sometimes you need to press the "see assets" button) and downloading the file named RiversideCorporationII.RiseSoftware.Zune.msixbundle
.
Q: I tried to install but it says "certificate not trusted", what do I do?
Follow the instructions here to install the app. It is a detailed step-by-step guide on how to trust the certificate file so that your computer knows that you meant to install it. Future versions of Rise Media Player won't have this problem.
Q: I installed the app, but the LastFM support is acting up. What's happening?
This build of Rise Media Player does not have support for LastFM. Please build it yourself, following the instructions at BUILD.md
to add support for LastFM.
