Customizations

Available Memory

By default, Elasticsearch is configured to consume 4GB of memory. To allow for installation on small devices such as the Raspberry Pi, this is scaled down to 256MB. If you choose to install on a device with more memory resources, you will want to increase the amount of memory available for Elasticsearch.

  • File: /etc/elasticsearch/jvm.options
  • Parameter: -Xms256m
  • Parameter: -Xmx256m
