Introduction

We propose a food-finding application. Instead of picking a restaurant and seeing the food there, our application enables you to see the food first. Pick what you like from browsing through multiple food review posts and explore their restaurant details. The motivation for this app was that it is hard to find food, especially when you want to try something new but do not know what. The application provides a way to find good food around you with reviews from others people’s dining experiences.

Zomato

With permission to access the user’s current location, Zomato can quickly help users find nearby restaurants at a fast rate. The restaurants and foods that are shown on Zomato are in a separate and dynamic list. They show items recently opened or provide trending events such as Happy Hours. The people who dined there can then provide reviews and images that help others to search for good restaurants. However, Zomato’s reviews and ratings are all about the restaurants rather than the dish itself. This can be improved by allowing users to provide reviews and rates to a specific dish too.

Menupages

Menupages has a great UI design for each restaurant’s menu. Users can discover restaurants through browsing their menus, images of each dish, prices, hours, locations, and more. However, the images are provided by restaurants only. It can be hard for users to recognise what the actual food looks like. Besides, without reviews, newcomers can not know what the dishes taste like.
