Hacktoberfest 2023

image

Welcome to Hacktoberfest 2023! We're excited to have you participate in our open source project. This repository is designed for new open source contributors, so whether you're a beginner or an experienced developer, we encourage you to join us and make your first contributions.

Project Overview

The goal of this project is to update a simple JavaScript file, users.js, by adding your GitHub username to an array. This exercise is an excellent starting point for new contributors to get the hang of contributing to open source projects.

View our project website using this link: Hacktoberfest 2023 Website.

Please note that we have deployed it on a free version, so if you're visiting this URL after the server has shut down, it may take around 30 seconds to start up again. Please be patient and wait for it to start.

  3. Create a new branch for your contributions using the following command in your terminal:

Contribution Rules To keep things simple and focused for first-time contributors, please follow these rules when making contributions:

  1. Update the users.js file by adding your GitHub username to the users array as shown in the image.

  2. Do not make changes to other files unless you believe they require updates or fixes.

How to Make a Meaningful Contribution While the primary goal of this repository is to get you started with open source contributions, we encourage you to make meaningful contributions that help you learn and grow.

Here are a few tips:

  1. Learn from the code: Study the existing codebase to understand how it works. You might find areas for improvement or optimization.

  2. Add comments: If you see code that's not well-documented, consider adding comments to help others understand it.

  3. Fix issues: Check the "Issues" tab in this repository for open issues that you can help resolve.

  4. Improve documentation: Documentation is crucial. If you find areas where the documentation can be enhanced, go ahead and make those changes.

  5. Collaborate: Feel free to collaborate with other contributors. Don't hesitate to ask questions or seek help from the community.

We look forward to your contributions and hope you have a fantastic Hacktoberfest 2023 experience! Happy coding!
