This is the repository for AKAN project in its Android version, welcome to cooperate with it!
There are two language versions (English and Portuguese) to the wiki, simply access the sidebar to find the desired version.
AKAN is a word originated from a Tupi (brazilian indigenous people) term, Akangatu, which means memory, intelligence.
The intention of the choice of the name comes from the team believe that democracy is only as good as who has the ability to elect also is able to remember who they elected and, above all, keep up with of those who they elected. This is the concept behind AKAN.
The project had its origin in the discipline of Portfolios and Project Management and Software Development Methods, both taught by Professor Hilmer Neri at the University of Brasilia, Faculty Gama (FGA). In both disciplines there is a project that integrates with the intention of, at the end of the semester, get a real product using open data from the Brazilian Government and the law on access to information ([Law No. 12,527 / 2011] law_number_12527_2011).
With the end of the courses the team kept the development of the project, to allow the visibility of public data to its biggest stakeholder, the Brazilian people.

Existem duas versões de idiomas (inglês e português) para a wiki, basta acessar a barra lateral para encontrar a versão desejada.
AKAN é uma palavra originada de um termo tupi, Akangatu, que significa memória, inteligência. Pode ser traduzido também como "Boa Cabeça".
A intenção da escolha do nome vem da equipe acreditar que a democracia só é sólida se quem tem a capacidade de eleger também for capaz de lembrar de quem elegeu e, acima de tudo, acompanhar os passos de quem elegeu. Esse é o conceito por trás do AKAN.
O projeto teve sua origem na disciplina de Gestão de Portifólios e Projetos (GPP) e Métodos de Desenvolvimento de Software (MDS), ambas ministradas pelo professor Hilmer Neri, na Universidade de Brasília, Faculdade Gama (FGA). Em ambas as disciplinas há um projeto que as integra com o intuito de, ao finalizar o semestre, obter um produto real utilizando-se de dados abertos do Governo Brasileiro e da lei de acesso a informação (Lei nº 12.527/2011).
Com o término das disciplinas a equipe manteve o desenvolvimento do projeto, visando permitir a visibilidade dos dados públicos ao seu maior interessado, o povo Brasileiro.
