GitHub notifier when label is added
From various contributors we heard the question: How can writers be informed about updates from other projects, i.e. Playground or Create Block Theme etc. The project owner should add a comment to the respective issue. The problem is how do project owners know that a new issue/post is in the works? Each What's new for Developer post gets its issue on the repo, and then is labeled 'Monthly Roundup'. This GitHub notifier is set up to ping 'recipients' when the label is applied next edition of the round up post.
This has been implemented with using the GitHub notifier by Jennifer Schelkopf from the GitHub Marketplace as GitHub Action. https://github.com/WordPress/developer-blog-content/blob/trunk/.github/workflows/label-notifier.yml
For now there are only two recipients: Birgit Pauli-Haack @bph and Adam Zielinski @adamziel.
To add a subscriber, just ping @bph on the WPSlack or submit a PR to the repo. The code for the notifier is located in label-notifier.yml in the .github/workflows
folder.
Monthly meetings take place on every first Thursday of the month in the #core-dev-blog Slack channel or the #core-dev-blog room in the community matrix
