Several things that are all interconnected:

Raw binary pull up/down over the wire transmission. Defining start/stop bits, header, body, structure of a frame (hardwares <-> hardware)
How transmission over the home network will work. Defining structure for these frames as well

Within this, what way can this be done from scratch without using socket programming libs
