Thank you! I manually merged the changes to the update script, but need to spend some more time verifying the merge from 3.12, since that seems to require solving some merge conflicts, as well as fixing some tests that are broken by the upgrade. |

Bring in the changes from the last Python release that includes lib2to3, i.e. v3.12.
