Getting Started

Prerequisites

  • Docker: For running the backend in a containerized environment. Download Docker
  • Truffle: For managing and deploying smart contracts. Install with npm install -g truffle
  • Alibaba Cloud CLI: For managing deployments on Alibaba Cloud. Install Alibaba Cloud CLI

Installation

  1. Clone the Repository:

    git clone https://github.com/your-repo/carbon-trading-platform.git
    cd carbon-trading-platform

Installation

  2. Install Backend Dependencies:

     cd backend
     npm install
  3. Install Frontend Dependencies:

     cd ../frontend
     npm install

Running the Application

  1. Start Backend:

node app.js
  1. Start Frontend:

cd ../frontend
npm run dev
  1. Access the Application:

Open your browser and navigate to http://localhost:3000.

Contracts

The smart contracts for tokenizing and trading carbon credits are located in the contracts directory. Key contracts include:

  • Marketplace.sol: Manages the marketplace for trading NFTs.
  • NFT.sol: Defines the NFT representing carbon credits.

Backend

The backend is built with Node.js and Express, providing API endpoints for interacting with the smart contracts and handling user requests. Key functionalities include:

  • Marketplace Management: APIs for listing, buying, and selling NFTs.
  • AI Chatbot Integration: Endpoint for interacting with the AI-powered chatbot.

Frontend

The frontend is built with Next.js and TypeScript, utilizing Material-UI for styling. It provides a user-friendly interface for:

  • Tokenizing Carbon Credits: Mint and manage NFTs.
  • Trading Marketplace: Browse and trade carbon credit NFTs.
  • User Dashboard: Track and report carbon offsetting activities.
  • Chatbot Interaction: Get support and suggestions from the AI chatbot.
