Rename Application to "Notify" #95

When I launch Spotify from Spotlight, more often than not the first suggestion for "Spotify" is "Spotify Notifications". As soon as I see the Spotify icon appear for "Spotify Notifications", I usually press enter, and the "Spotify Notifications" application launches. In my opinion this is slightly more user hostile than it needs to be. Obviously, this is a case of me being too quick to pull the trigger on the wrong application, and perhaps I need to slow down.

A workaround that I have used so far has been to rename the Application "Notify", but thought I'd open it up for suggestion here too.

+1 on renaming the application to something that doesn't start with the characters "Spotify" for the stated reason.

Another workaround is:

  1. Open Spotlight Preferences on the Privacy tab
  2. Drag the Spotify Notifications app to the Privacy pane
  3. Spotify Notifications should no longer appear in the suggestions list

Note: If using Alfred, type reload into Alfred and select Reload Alfred cache
