New tab opens blank

I'm not sure what the goal was, but I found the new tab change quite confusing as implemented. As a user, clicking upload opens a blank tab, which doesn't display anything for a long time (especially with multiple uploads). I'd advocate for either opening the tab after processing (as it was before) or showing the progress messages on the new tab.
