Proposal: OpenYurt to Incubation

OpenYurt has been running as a CNCF sandbox project for about a year and a half. We have made significant progresses in both the community growth and technical developments. Hence we believe the project is ready for incubation!

Please review the proposal and we are happy to answer any due diligence questions and take required actions to move the project to incubation.

@Fei-Guo will be the main contact for this process.

Hi @dims, we are stilling working on the doc and preparing for the OpenYurt v1.0.0 release. The ETA of the DD doc is the middle of August.

Hey there, we're currently in a project freeze before KubeCon! Projects Moving Levels will kick off again in April.

We had the kickoff meeting on May 6th. The DD document is already well advanced, the work will continue in parallel with the adopter interviews.

Apologies for the delay here. I've completed the interviews and the DD process, with a couple minor open items:

There are a couple items to be looked at, i've opened issues in the openyurt repository:

• inconsistencies in the contributors guide
• documenting the process for roadmap definition
• documenting integrations with external projects

I also had a look at the project following the new incubation process, and a couple additional items include:

• security self assessment
• openssf best practices badge
• clarifying email for security vulnerabilities report

Feel free to ping me if you need any help with these items, from my side these are items that involve documentation only since the processes already exist in the project. Once completed we can move to public comment.

@rochaporto Thank you for the update and great work on progressing with the interviews and the DD process. It's great to see the issues already opened in the OpenYurt repository to address the minor items. OpenYurt community will solve these comments as soon as possible.
